Galloping Gumnut’s preschool session is a small group. We have three staff members that facilitate the session. The program and service delivery is lead by an Early Childhood teacher and experienced child care workers.

The preschool day involves lots of fun and developmentally appropriate experiences and activities that embrace your child’s knowledge and skills. It provides opportunities for your child to extend and develop their learning in all areas.

The program is Early Childhood based and centred on the new national Early Years Learning Framework that encompasses “Belonging, Being and Becoming”. Children are able to explore, investigate, discover and learn new skills and concepts. The program and routine is flexible and responsive to the children’s needs and interests. There are open play-based opportunities and small group experiences throughout the day that will assist your child’s transition to the school environment.

Mondays & Fridays (weekly) 9.30am - 3pm
 

Dates of sessions 2010:

We offer preschool sessions during the school terms only.

Routine:

• Indoor and outdoor planning experiences (art/craft; building/construction/manipulative/role play; literacy/mathematical/ science based activities; etc).
• Group experiences where stories (literacy development); music/movement; drama; and yoga is all planned and interactive with the children.
• Meal times (morning tea and lunch) where all the children and staff sit down together.
• Special times that may include show and tell.

What to bring:

• Bag that fits your child’s belongings
• Packed Lunch that includes HEALTHY options (sandwich, yoghurt, 2 serves of fruit, cheese, vegetable sticks etc).  NO NUT BASED PRODUCTS.
• Drink – preferably water in a drink bottle with a lid (poppers spill).
• Hand Towel.
• Extra set of clothing.
• Sun Hat – (No caps).  We provide Sun Screen.
• Jacket
• PLEASE LABEL ALL YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS.
